About us

We began in 1936 and have grown in size, and in the number of school districts we serve.

Boys and Girls Bible Clubs is a non-profit 501c3, non-denominational organization. It is a local group of ordinary men and women who want to do what they can to help today’s children. Children today have so much against them: broken families, drugs, shootings, abductions, classmates writing hit lists, and so much more. The Clubs are designed to reach children where they are, develop strong character in their lives, build confidence, and provide them with the Biblical knowledge and skills to make wise choices and be successful. Boys and Girls Bible Clubs is not a part of any church or public school program.

Conduct Clubs

The primary purpose of Boys and Girls Bible Clubs is to teach Biblical truths by conducting one-hour after school clubs throughout the Metro Detroit area. Children come free – there are no admission fees or supplies to buy. The only requirement is a parent’s written permission to attend.

Nurture Children

Children need to be grounded in the knowledge that produces good character, then cultivated in a safe, peaceful, and happy environment, and showered with love and encouragement. Using creative, fun, and purposeful methods, Bible Club teachers skillfully meet the needs of elementary age children.

Develop Teachers

Boys and Girls Bible Clubs is committed to developing teachers into leaders. Specific training enables men and women to master the art of storytelling, teach life-changing and time-tested principles, and apply God’s truth to daily living.

What We Do

Our Values

Children

Childhood is the greatest opportunity to make a powerful, lasting impact on our homes, nation, and the world.

Life

All life comes from God. Each person is precious, sacred, and holy.

Urgency

The growing difficulties in the world, the needs of people, and the complete dependence of children upon others make it imperative that we work wholeheartedly on behalf of children to make them more secure and prepared for the future.

Training

Continued growth and training are essential to the internal and external development of children.

Dependance

We acknowledge our complete reliance on God to supply all our needs and sustain this work.

Integrity

We strive to live morally upright lives, above all reproach, in all our relationships. We are committed to the highest standards in every area.

Servanthood

We are role models and examples to the children. We desire to demonstrate that it is “more blessed to give than to receive.” Therefore, we look for ways to bless and benefit others.

Excellence

We continually strive to make all aspects of our organization, presentation, communication, physical appearance, and dealings with others demonstrate our love and commitment to God, children, and the community.

Our Beliefs

We believe God has given us the Bible to be the rule of life. It is as infallible and up-to-date for this generation as it was 2,000 years ago.

  • We believe in the Scripture of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired by God, and inerrant in the original writings, and that it is the supreme and final authority in faith and life. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21)

  • We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (I John 5:7; II Corinthians 13:14)

  • We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true God and true Man.

    (Luke 1:35; John 1:14)

  • We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned, and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and in the case of those who reach moral responsibility become sinners in thought, word and deed. (Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12)

We believe God wonderfully and immutably created man and woman as distinct, complementary biological persons made in His image. God instituted monogamous marriage between male and female as the foundation of the family, and the basic structure of human society. For this reason, we believe that the marriage covenant is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female. Any union outside of this covenant of marriage is contrary to Scripture. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; I Corinthians 6:9)

  • We believe that Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. (I Corinthians 15:3,4; II Corinthians 5:21)

  • We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and present life there for us as our High Priest and Advocate. (I Corinthians 15:4; Hebrews 7:25)

  • We believe in that blessed hope; the personal, pre-millennial, and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. (Titus 2:13; I Thessalonians 4:16, 17; Acts 1:11)

  • We believe that all who admit or acknowledge their sins and repent of them and who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation are born again of the Holy Spirit and thereby become children of God. (Ephesians 2:8, 9; I John 5:1; John 1:12; Acts 2:38)

  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost. (John 5:28, 29; Revelation 20:6, 11-14)

  • We believe in witnessing to the saving and keeping power of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the power of a Spirit led life. (Ephesians 5:18; I Corinthians 1:30; Psalm 107:2)
